A Passion for Literature

I was born in San Jose, California back in 2003 and grew up in a family of three with many interests in mind, but the one that stuck with me the most was writing. Since I first began writing, particularly short stories and maybe a couple of poems, I knew it was going to grow to have an incredible impact on my life.

My passion began with writing stories. From the time I was little I've been building worlds and characters in my mind and scraping to bring it all to life to the best of my ability. The way I express these ideas and worlds most fluently is through writing. I've written countless stories and snippets of scenes that may never even come to be published, but still, I'm motivated to create boundless new worlds.

While I never thought I'd end up doing journalistic work, I can definitely say for sure that it isn't something I'd ever regret starting. It's very motivating work. Since I've joined the Gazette, I've found myself always interested in new journalistic opportunities and can't imagine leaving this class. It's been a phenomenal opportunity to improve my writing and grow as an author. It might not be my future career but it is definitely a healthy hobby that I'll do my best to keep around.

I'm most interested in writing entertainment pieces and features, but the news and sports stories I've covered have also been very fun to do. Opinion pieces, I've found, have been a good way to let my opinion be heard, and I plan to take up more opinion pieces in the future.
